![]() ![]() I actually watched the dev play it live on Steam not long after the release. There are user made maps that help you get better acclimated to the game and enjoy it way more than the very ones who made it. Others felt this way too because the maps built by users better understood the imbalance the devs had placed on the game. I wanted to give it another go, but I read where they added those fly right past your defenses enemies and it caused me not to pick it up again. ![]() They have these cave trolls that just demolish your base walls that just destroy all you spent an hour to just get somewhat setup. ![]() Even on the latest update the dev added creatures that can now fly OVER your walls you built. The problem is, the dev created maps just seem to pummel you unnecessarily. Lumencraft is a beautiful game for this style. Not to be compared to Subterrain at all, but the top down look and feel remind me so much of that game but with base defense in place of big map exploration. I actually love the graphics, style of play, and mechanics. I bought it and try to play it each time the devs update it. Now, it may seem like I hate the game, but I do not. There is no upgrading or reward system in place to make you keep coming back for more unless you spam those saves so you don't get stuck in an impossible situation you can't come back from. If you just want to make your own maps, play other players maps, and a "few" of the developers maps, then get it. If you are looking for depth and balance, I say not worth buying. ![]()
